Mia Copa

Having just gotten adjusted to my move back from sub-tropical to arctic weather(not griping...I love having real seasons) now I have to adjust again to the Day Light savings phenomenon. As I stated, the only thing I'm going to get out of it is the 2 hour younger theory(not worth explaining again and don't tell me I'm wrong, it's just part of the big lie I tell myself). But that's not exactly so(my bad for this month, can't make another) it will give us more daylight time to enjoy the emerging spring. Crocus are popping their brilliant colors to dot the gray,sleeping winter foliage with an aliveness...little whispers of yellow bell, red-bud and a pinking-up of the trees with new life is causing a sort of glow to the mountains. Man, this place is something, never ceases to amaze me every time I look up at the glorious mountains. Take a little time to treat yourself, and take a post-card drive to Paint Bank...a Paradise Valley in anyone's eyes. I have guests that have rented our Pondrosa Cabin for the third time within a year and when asking them(as I do all guests,we really want to know)what about the accommodations they like the most, the response was..."everything is so perfect,every need is taken care of. I travel 35 weeks out of the year and this place is the only place I can get a good night's rest and peace and quiet". Your enjoyment and pleasure is our utmost concern at Paint Bank...always has been...always will be...spoiling you is our business. You owe it to yourself to make the short, beautiful drive to Paint Bank Virgina, to shop the general store, eat in The Swinging Bridge restaurant and walk across the street to The Depot Lodge and say Hey...I'll say Hey back at you...you'll know me, I'm the one with the big grin on my face 'cause I live here.
I'd like to say Happy Birthday to "Welfare Woman" who turns the big 50 this month...so here's my birthday poem for her.....
