The Bluebird of Happiness

I always said that I was never going to get old! Well, that comment along with a dime won't buy a cup of coffee, so I guess I might as well accept the fact that I am lucky to get old. Not just the obvious...you know, what's the alternative...but the fact that I was lucky enough to grow up in the "Happy Days" era with Ozzie and Harriett as parents and "Opie, The Fonz, and Gidget as friends....truly...that was my life and it really don't get no better than that!!! Sadly, that day of innocence is gone...don't even turn on that "Boob Tube" there's an "R" rated news story at every 5 minute interval. So here's what we're gonna do folks....we're gonna invite you to "Pleasantville",or as it is better known..."Paint Bank, Virginia...just a short drive out #Hwy 311 north of Roanoke. As you start on this "Currier and Ives" drive, you'll get "The Feelin"...the closer you get...the more you get "The Feelin". Then it happens...you drop down off Potts Mountain into the world that only Ayn Ryan could describe...Paint Bank City Limits. The perfect place...the place that makes you think Aunt B's gonna come out of the kitchen and serve you cause the foods is THAT good and just like it was in "the day"...made from scratch. Or just around the corner, Floyd and Andy will be discussing baseball, and believe me "Ernest T" could come out of the mountains at any minute. It's just a real -good, feel -good place...kinda of like when I grew up...you know what I mean. Give yourself a treat...pack up the babies and grab the old ladies and come on to Paint Bank...while you're there, walk across the street to The Depot Lodge and say "hey"..I'll say"hey" back at you. You'll recognize me, I'm the one who'll remind you of......shoot....might as well go all the way....Marilyn Monroe...yea...that's me....still smokin'...in my dreams.

The big 22...that's all that's left till spring.

What's the word mockin' bird...
The word is LEEWAY
Definition: The lateral movement of a ship to the leeward of her course, drift.
Give me some leeway...I could be Marilyn Monroe.
